Hi Joe,
The vinyl allows for that bit of flexibility, which is necessary over caulk which tends to flex with temperature changes etc.
I really only use the contract matt now for ceilings and coloured mist coats. Contract matt can also crack if you cut in with too thick a layer.
Shame really as the Glidden contract matt is excellent and dirt cheap too.
