Default Building a retaining wall

I am digging out for a retaining wall at the side of my property, next door ground level is about 800mm higher than mine, how deep and how wide should the footing be for a double skin wall with weeping holes built in at my ground level or just above, bricks used will be Ibstocks autumn blend.

Thank you in advance

This is maybe a topic better answered by a builder, however I will suggest you allow for a 300mm thickness of concrete at a width of 450mm that should allow a strong foundation to build the wall, one question I would ask is how high is the planned wall? Just out of interest.

Well all the luck with your project and keep us all posted during the build and after.

Thank you

I had a retaining wall built at my home before christmas, i employed a bricklayer and he did a fantastic job. If i had dome some research i think i could have done a good job and it would hopfuly be there in years to come. but it would have took me weeks to do and not as good as done by a bricklayer.
good luck
