Hi all I do like my DIY and have ordered 30 metres of skirting for my weekend job in my bedroom. (Guys calm down just fitting wood nothing that exciting) and I have a saw to cut my external mitres do I cut the internals the same? As someone in my office said I should scribe the internals is this right? Please answer me before Saturday as I will be getting my kit on (not off) for my skirting experience.
Donna you might get the skirting fitted free the way you posted your question, anyway to answer your question yes this person is right you never mitre internals they should be scribed in.
This is done by fitting the first wall with the skirting butted tight to the wall then cutting a mitre to the next adjoining length then using a copping saw cut the shape off from the face of the internal mitre.
Now this skirting will fold around in shape with the first peice you fitted.
also what is the best method of attatching the skirting to the wall
im using 4 " bullnose skirting which im going to gloss paint once ie cut them to fit and before i fit them i can gie them a final coat when they are fixed
