Default Best gear for worktops?

Fitted several kitchens to date, most were German factory made units and some were Shed supplied. Tools used on the job were suplied by kitchen supplier but now I'm looking at setting my own tools up - jig, router, biscuit jointer etc. Any one got any preferred brands over others?

Is there any difference in quality of finish with a cheapo tool or is it that quality tools are just easier and smoother to handle? I notice a far better performance in my mates 18v Makita cordless than I do in my 24v cheapo cordless - even the battery outruns mine!

run time on the batteries and if the expensie ones break you can get them fixed

ie got a 14 impact driver and the torque it has beats my screwfix 24 v by miles

saying that screwfix have got a range just starting out that has been made by makita but under the screwfix branding so might be worth a look
