Thumbs up levelflex over underfloor heating

Take a look at this floor leveller that can be poured over your underfloor heating.

Self levelling compound should "always" be applied over electric under tile heating prior to tiling.
This :

Protects the cable from damage during the tiling process

Prevents air pockets that can be created by not being able to get a good solid bed of adhesive if self leveller is not used... these air pockets can lead to "hot spots"where the cable is not fully encased. Potentially causing the heating to malfunction.

Tiling straight onto cables can lead to uneven, patchy heat distribution.

In the event of tiles being damaged in the future, they will be easier to lift and remove without damaging the UFH cable.

Finally,as a sub note. Electric under floor heating should ideally be fixed to insulation boards to maximise the efficiency of the heating.
